The Birthday Linked to a Marines Car Emblem

The man or woman who drives a vehicle with a Marines car emblem is apt to be humming a certain tune on November the tenth of any year. In 1776, on the same day of that particular month, some members of the Continental Congress chose to establish a Corps, one that would be much like an earlier Amphibious Regiment. Samuel Nicholas was its first captain, but he was one whose men did not have an anthem to sing. At the same time, their means of transportation did not provide them with a suitable place for putting any emblematic symbol, such as the chrome emblems that are available online today.
